CDBG Public Service Grants

CDBG Public Service Grants

For the 2018-19 Program Year, the City of Murfreesboro has funded 13 Public Service grants totaling $132,224. A listing of those funded can be found in Section AP-38 of the Fourth-Year Action Plan. The projects funded by the Public Service Grants must benefit low- and moderate-income residents of Murfreesboro. Qualified agencies (must have 501(c)3 tax-exempt status) are invited to apply for these competitive grants.

Service providers are required to verify the income of program participants. Agencies needing guidance should refer to HUD's Technical Guide for Determining Income and Allowances.

The City issued a Notice of Funding Available for the 2018-19 Program Year on January 30, 2018. Visit the Notice of Funding Available page for details about the 2018-19 application process. The deadline for 2018-19 applications was February 28, 2018.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the HUD publication Playing By The Rules: A Handbook for CDBG Subrecipients on Administrative Systems. The PowerPoint for the June 20, 2018, training for subrecipients is here.
