The City of Murfreesboro’s goal is to engage its citizens in a sense of shared responsibility to the community. In the 2012 Budget, City Council set a goal to look for ways to establish new partnerships and bring residents together to help address and solve community challenges.
Make A Difference
There are many ways a citizen can develop the knowledge, skills, and motivation to make a difference in the community. Taking advantage of the city’s open records policy and exploring this website are among the ways a citizen can gain knowledge. Participating in citizen academies, attending boards and commissions meetings, and volunteering for activities and committees are also among ways one can actively engage and make a difference. We believe by providing access to information and encouraging conversations through multiple and convenient methods, civic engagement will result in a better city.
