Public Service Grants
NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY – CDBG PUBLIC SERVICE GRANTIn conjunction with its CDBG Public Service Grant program, the City of Murfreesboro issues a Notice of Funding Available annually, usually in January. CDBG Public Service Grant activities must benefit low- and moderate-income residents of Murfreesboro. Community Development Block Grant regulations (24 CFR 570.201) allow the use of grant funds for a wide range of public service activities, including, but not limited to: 

Child care/counseling                                               
Health care
Job training
Recreation programs
Substance abuse counseling and treatment

Homebuyer counseling
Energy conservation
Services for senior citizens
Education programs 

Public safety services
Fair Housing activities
Youth services
Homeless services 

Qualified nonprofit agencies (applicant organizations must have 501(c)3 tax-exempt status) and government agencies are invited to apply for these competitive grants.

Applications for Public Service Grants are accepted on-line only. Details for applying are included in the Program Guide. View the criteria for scoring applications. The Community Development Department conducts an Application Workshop each year.
