Legal Notice of Public Hearings

 

The Murfreesboro Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 PM on May 5, 2021 in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 111 W. Vine Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee to consider an application [2021-403] to rezone approximately 30.5 acres located along Medical Center Parkway, Robert Rose Drive, Wilkinson Pike, Willowoak Trail, and Greshampark Drive from MU (Mixed Use District) to CH (Highway Commercial District) and 47.3 acres from MU to PUD (Planned Unit District), as shown on the accompanying illustration.  The boundaries of the GDO-1 (Gateway Design Overlay) and GDO-2 districts will not be affected by this request.  The purpose of the proposed PUD (Clari Park PUD) is to allow a mixed-use development consisting of single-family residential attached, single-family residential detached, and multi-family residential uses as well as commercial uses.  The application is being made by Hines Acquisitions, LLC, whose representative, Mr. Kevin Guenther of Ragan-Smith, may be contacted at (615)-546-6050 for additional information.  Copies of the application and the PUD pattern book are available for review in the office of the Planning Director in City Hall and it is anticipated that they will be posted on the City’s web page at www.murfreesborotn.gov the week of the public hearing.   Interested parties may also obtain additional information by calling the Murfreesboro Planning Staff at (615)-893-6441.  All interested parties are invited to attend.

  

The Murfreesboro Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 PM on May 5, 2021 in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 111 W. Vine Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee to consider an application [2021-407] to rezone approximately 17.25 acres along the north side of Ashers Fork Drive from CF (Commercial Fringe District) to RS-6 (Single-Family Residential District 6), as shown on the accompanying illustration.  The application is being made by O’Brien Loyd, LLC, whose representative, Mr. Clyde Rountree of Huddleston-Steele Engineering, Inc., may be contacted at (615)-893-4084 for additional information.  A copy of the application is available for review in the office of the Planning Director in City Hall and it is anticipated that it will be posted on the City’s web page at www.murfreesborotn.gov the week of the public hearing.   Interested parties may also obtain additional information by calling the Murfreesboro Planning Staff at (615)-893-6441.  All interested parties are invited to attend. 

 

The Murfreesboro Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 PM on May 5, 2021 in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 111 W. Vine Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee to consider a request [2021-902] to rename a segment of Mercury Boulevard to Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, as shown on the accompanying illustration.   The segment of Mercury Boulevard in question is approximately two (2) miles in length, beginning at its intersection with Southeast Broad Street and ending at its intersection with South Rutherford Boulevard.  The request is being made by the City of Murfreesboro Planning Department.   Interested parties may obtain additional information by calling the Murfreesboro Planning Staff at (615)-893-6441    All interested parties are invited to attend.

  

The Murfreesboro Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 PM on May 5, 2021 in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 111 W. Vine Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee to consider amendments [2020-807] to the Zoning Ordinance pertaining to the following sections:

 

  • Section 2: Interpretation and Definitions;
  • Section 19: Residential Districts;
  • Section 26: Off-Street Parking, Queuing, and Loading;
  • Chart 1: Uses Permitted by Zoning District (including Chart 1 Endnotes);
  • Chart 2: Minimum Lot Requirements, Minimum Yard Requirements, and Land Use Intensity Ratios (including Chart 2 Endnotes); and
  • Chart 4: Required Off-Street Parking and Queuing Spaces by Use.

Among other miscellaneous revisions, the proposed amendment seeks to clarify ambiguities and inconsistencies in the Zoning Ordinance with respect to single-family residential detached and attached uses and zones.  The request is being made by the City of Murfreesboro Planning Department, which may be contacted at (615)-893-6441 for additional information.  A copy of the proposed amendment is available for review in the office of the Planning Director in City Hall and it is anticipated that it will be posted on the City’s web page at www.murfreesborotn.gov the week of the public hearing.  All interested parties are invited to attend.

 

The Murfreesboro Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 PM on May 5, 2021 in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 111 W. Vine Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee to consider a request [2020-903] to rename a segment of Mercury Boulevard to John Bragg Highway, as shown on the accompanying illustration. The segment of Mercury Boulevard in question is approximately 600-feet in length east of South Rutherford Boulevard.  The request is being made by the City of Murfreesboro Planning Department.  Interested parties may obtain additional information by calling the Murfreesboro Planning Staff at (615)-893-6441.   All interested parties are invited to attend.


Executive Order No. 16 issued by Governor Bill Lee on March 20, 2020, as subsequently amended by Executive Order No. 34 on May 6, 2020, by Executive Order No. 51 on June 29, 2020, by Executive Order No. 60 on August 28, 2020, by Executive Order No. 65 on October 28, 2020, by Executive Order No. 71 on December 22, 2020, and by Executive Order No. 78 on February 26, 2021, has permitted public hearings to be conducted electronically due to the need to protect public health, safety, and welfare in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Executive Order No. 78 expires on April 28, 2021.  In the event Governor Lee extends Executive Order No. 78, this meeting may be conducted by electronic means. Otherwise, the meeting will be conducted in person. If the hearing will be held electronically, this determination will be made and posted on the City’s website by the Friday before the scheduled hearing.
