Acquisition of Real Property Program

Purpose of the Program


The Acquisition of Real Property (APR) Program provides available Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to assist eligible not-for-profit agencies purchase of real property inside the City of Murfreesboro to provide housing for low-income residents of the City.

The program has two components:

1) Acquisition of real property for redevelopment of single-family housing for resale;
2) Acquisition of real property to be used as affordable rental housing for low income residents.

Notice of Funding Available - Acquisition of Rental Property


The Community Development Department has budgeted $200,000 for the 2016-17 program year to assist nonprofit agencies purchase housing stock inside the City of Murfreesboro to be used as affordable rental property for low-income households. Agencies wishing to participate in the Acquisition of Real Property Program must submit a letter of interest and qualifications to the Community Development Department. For full details, see the NOFA.
