Maney Avenue development, Youth Golf, Art Laureates and more ‘In the City’


Plans for a new Maney Avenue development is among the features in the latest edition of ‘In the City,’ your source for what’s happening in Murfreesboro. The July episode with Michael Linn White also highlights Youth Golf, Art Laureates, Public Safety Training, and the new MCS Interim School Director.

The July 2020 edition of “In the City,” airing on CityTV throughout the month, features:

  • The Saturday Farmer’s Market on the Square opened in June with new rules, including face coverings and no pets
  • Youth Golf League season is underway at Bloomfield Links and Old Fort Golf Club. PGA Master Professional Jex Wilson reminds us that the league is alive and well
  • Learn more about Interim Murfreesboro City Schools Director Ralph Ringstaff, appointed to direct MCS following the passing of Dr. Linda Gilbert 
  • Maney Station, a proposed new mixed-use development on Maney Avenue, features a rooftop patio
  • MTSU recently added six new planes to its student-training fleet at the thriving, nationally-recognized Aerospace program
  • Rutherford County First Responders and the Tennessee National Guard participated in a large-scale Training Exercise
  • Also, the arts continue to flourish in Murfreesboro. Cultural Arts delivers Learning with the Laureates featuring Poet Laureate Amie Whittemore and “Art in the Rotunda: Kaleidoscope of Color” featuring James Threalkill through July 23.

‘In the City’ is hosted by multimedia journalist Michael Linn White and produced by Steve Burris every month in the studios located at Murfreesboro City Hall.  

The July 2020 episode is airing on CityTV throughout the month or anytime on YouTube and Facebook. The magazine show airs every day at 8:00 a.m., 6:30 p.m., and 10:30 p.m. on Channel 3.  ‘In the City’ also airs on Comcast Xfinity Channels 3 and 1094, Channel 99 on AT&T Uverse, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV via Cablecast Screenweave app, and YouTube.
