  1. Tortoise Triathlon

    June 1, 2019 - July 31, 2019 @ Sports*Com for registration

    It's hot out, but that shouldn't keep you from challenging yourself. Why not complete a triathlon this summer - the slow and steady way? Swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles over the course of the summer. Track your progress on provided logs, then turn in by the end of the summer (July 31) for a t-shirt. Register at Sports*Com from May 1-May 31. For all ages.

  2. Refire: Aging with Purpose

    Refire: Aging With Purpose at St. Clair Street Senior Center is a program with 7 sessions. Each session will feature a professional focusing on topics such as: nutrition, sleep, stress and brain health. Begins May 8 and meets on Wednesdays for seven sessions from 9:30-11:30 am.     For ages 1-4 with adult. Welcome to the Wilderness! Introduce your child to the wonders of nature in this fun-filled class designed just for them. Each week the adventure starts with unique songs and a discussion about the animal of the week. We reinforce each topic with a simple craft and a nature hike or fun activity. learn about the wonderful, wacky wildlife that lives in Tennessee. Registration is required.   5. Start Smart Summer Baseball

    Start Smart Baseball is a developmentally appropriate introductory baseball program for children 3-4 years old. This 7-week program prepares children for organized tee ball, baseball and softball in a fun and safe environment. It also prepares children and their parents for organized baseball and softball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Registration will be held throughout the month of May at Sports*Com, McFadden Community Center, the main office at Barfield Crescent Park and online at murfreesborotn.gov/parks. Space is limited.

    We need your help cleaning up the Greenway! Volunteers will pick up trash beside the trail along the banks of the Stones River and Lytle Creek. Trash bags, gloves, water and snacks will be provided. Wear sturdy shoes and clothes that can get wet and dirty. Meet at Old Fort Park Pavilion 3. For all ages.

    Outdoor Murfreesboro and volunteers from Stones River Watershed Association will bring several types of canoes and kayaks for you to try.
