April 26, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Wilderness Station at Barfield Crescent Park

2014 is the International Year of Family Farming, an initiative promoted by the World Rural Forum and supported by over 360 civil societies and farmers’ organizations. This worldwide celebration, declared by the United Nations General Assembly, aims to become a tool to stimulate sustainable development of farmer and fishing families and cooperatives. Join us at the Wilderness Station as we learn about some of the family farms right here in Rutherford County. Guest presenters will give first-hand accounts of growing principles and ideas. Kid activities will be provided to engage the youth in agricultural fun while allowing adults to engage, undistracted, in the presentations. It’ll be a great day for the whole family.
