Over 80 tons of sand is used to create the beach, before it is used throughout the park systems. Come join us for music, dancing and a variety of games and activities.

  2. Drown Proof Murfreesboro “Free Swim Lesson Day”

    May 7, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Patterson Park Community Center

    Join us in helping you stay safe at the pool this summer in our endeavor to drown proof Murfreesboro. According to the Center for Disease Control, “children who participate in a formal swim lesson are 88% less likely to become drowning victims.” This event will provide free swim lessons and many other safety awareness activities.

    International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) is an international education program that highlights and celebrates the migration of nearly 350 species of migratory birds between nesting habitats in North America and non-breeding grounds in Latin America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Guided bird hikes, photography opportunities, activities, and information of our well-loved flying residents will be offered throughout the event.     Being a princess is more than just looking good in your crown. You have to know how to fight the evil dragons, run from the wicked witches, dodge all of your suitors--all with poise and confidence. Come to our training class and learn the basics of being a true, strong princess. Registration is required as space is limited. Registration begins on the Friday before the class.
