For ages 13 and over. This lightweight summer backpacking adventure in Prentice Cooper State Forest will have you enjoying breathtaking views of the Tennessee River Gorge while hiking through limestone outcrops by cascading streams. The first day's 5-mile hike passes through dense forest to the stunning Mullens Cove Overlook before you arrive at the campsite on the banks of Mullens Creek. The next day's 3-mile hike crosses several crystal-clear mountain streams, leading to the breathtaking panoramic view of the Tennessee River Gorge at Snooper's Rock. The fee for this trip includes transportation and instruction; gear such as tents, packs, sleeping pads, stoves, cook sets and headlamps are available for check-out at no extra charge. All participants MUST attend the pre-trip meeting. space is limited, and reservations are required.

For all ages. What is that crawling, slithering, sliding, flying or hopping across the trail or even in your backyard? Each week we will look at one of our resident education animals for a mini lesson of animals that call Tennessee home. Come out and meet the best teachers we have: the animals!
