What is Transparency?

 Public Records Requests

The records of the City of Murfreesboro are open for public inspection in accordance with State law. There is no cost for inspecting public records. Copies of public records may be purchased.

To request inspection or copying of a City record, any Tennessee citizen should, during normal weekday business hours, visit the City office or department where the record was made. For most City offices, this will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for holidays. For example, to request a copy of a building permit, you should go to the Building and Codes Department on the second floor of City Hall. If the record location is unknown, you should contact the City Recorder's Office, by going to the first floor of City Hall or by calling 615-893-5210, for additional information and assistance."
