St. Clair Street Senior Center offers a variety of services, programs, and activities for individuals age 60 and over. The Center is open weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and special occasions. The monthly newsletter, The Leaf, is a valuable calendar of classes, activities and trips and source of information for the senior.
Scheduled recreational activities attract active seniors. Also scheduled are educational programs of particular interest to seniors on an assortment of topics, craft classes, physical fitness and health screening activities, and volunteer opportunities are at the center. Adult day-care services are also offered. A focus on fitness, health, prevention, and wellness are a priority in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The Senior Center activities support the seniors in achieving their goal(s).
Educational classes for seniors include language, computer, crafts, dance, health, and more. Support groups for caregivers, diabetes, and Parkinson’s Disease offer support and encouragement for families. At the Senior Center, seniors have social opportunities throughout the month and year to rekindle acquaintances and friendships.
The center coordinates services with many community agencies. Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency Elderly Nutrition Program serves hot meals in the center and delivers homebound meals (Monday through Friday).
