Human Resources
The Human Resources Department (HR) is a multi-functional department within the City. HR is responsible for hiring and retaining highly-qualified employees, administering and managing benefits, training, workers’ compensation, safety, maintaining interoffice relationships and interpreting employment laws and City policies.
Our Mission: To create an environment that is both challenging and rewarding; where colleagues are respected and work toward the same goal of Service Excellence, while sharing and celebrating in each other’s accomplishments.
Our Commitment: To ensure that the City’s most important asset - it’s employees - is being cultivated and supported through the use of programs, policies, and procedures, and by fostering a positive work environment through effective employee-employer relations. The HR team is committed to providing exceptional service to each of our employees, one transaction at a time.
As an equal opportunity employer, the City of Murfreesboro embraces diversity and the fair and equitable treatment of its employees. The city strives to identify qualified minorities and females in the creation of a more diverse workforce that is reflective of the ethnic diversity of our community.
The City does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age disability, or veteran status in providing services, programs, activities or employment opportunities and benefits.
