Notice of Funding Availability

Public Service Grants

In conjunction with its CDBG Public Service Grant program, the City of Murfreesboro issues a Notice of Funding Available annually, usually in January. CDBG Public Service Grant activities must benefit low- and moderate-income residents of Murfreesboro. Community Development Block Grant regulations (24 CFR 570.201) allow the use of grant funds for a wide range of public service activities, including, but not limited to:
Child care/counseling
Health care
Job training
Recreation programs
Substance abuse counseling and treatment
Public safety services
Fair Housing activities
Youth services
Homeless services
Homebuyer counseling
Energy conservation
Services for senior citizens
Education programs
Qualified nonprofit agencies (applicant organizations must have 501(c)3 tax-exempt status) and government agencies are invited to apply for these competitive grants.

The deadline for 2019-20 applications is February 28, 2019. The Notice of Funding Available for the 2019-20 program year was posted January 7, 2019. A workshop for prospective Public Service Grant applicants will be conducted Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at 10 a.m. in Meeting Room B at McFadden Community Center, 211 Bridge Avenue. The PowerPoint from the 2019 workshop is available here.

Applications for Public Service Grants are accepted on-line only. Details for applying are included in the Program Guide. View the criteria for scoring applications.
