Legal Notice of Public Hearings

The Murfreesboro Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 PM on August 5, 2020 in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 111 W. Vine Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee to consider a request [2020-901] to rename a segment of East Overall Creek Road to Constantine Drive, as shown on the above illustration.  The segment of East Overall Creek Road in question is approximately 700-feet in length, beginning at its intersection with Old Salem Road and ending at its intersection with Constantine Drive.  The request is being made by the City of Murfreesboro Planning Department.  Interested parties may obtain additional information by calling the Murfreesboro Planning Staff at (615)-893-6441.  All interested parties are invited to attend.

The Murfreesboro Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 PM on August 5, 2020 in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 111 W. Vine Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee to consider amendments [2020-802] to the Sign Ordinance pertaining to Section 25.2-2, 25.2-4, 25.2-23, 25.2-24, 25.2-25, and Section 25.2-26.   The purposes of the proposed amendments are as follows: (1) adding a definition of “External Customer Transaction Portal” and allow certain, limited electronic changeable signs at external locations such as ATMs, drive-up windows, and gasoline pumps; (2) decreasing the time a temporary sign can be claimed and increasing the fee for temporary signs picked up in the right-of-way; (3) prohibiting certain materials from use in signage; (4) reducing the maximum allowable size of temporary signs; and (5) allowing murals on more than two sides of a building.  The request is being made by the City of Murfreesboro Building and Codes Department, which may be contacted at (615)-893-3750 for additional information.  A copy of the proposed amendments is available for review in the office of the Planning Director in City Hall and it is anticipated that it will be posted on the City’s web page at www.murfreesborotn.gov the week of the public hearingAll interested parties are invited to attend.

Vine Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee to consider an amendment [2020-S-101] to the approved master plan for McKnight Park, which is located at 2310 Memorial Boulevard and 120 Dejarnette Lane.  A copy of the proposed amendment is available for review in the office of the Planning Director in City Hall.  Interested parties may obtain additional information by calling the Murfreesboro Planning Staff at (615)-893-6441.  All interested parties are invited to attend.
