[ARCHIVED] Officials Say House Fire at 824 N Church Street Appears Suspicious

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department officials say the fire that occurred early Sunday morning at 824 N Church Street appears suspicious.

According to Assistant Fire Marshal Clay Malone, the fire started in the upstairs portion of the home and is believed to be a set fire.

MFRD is seeking the public’s assistance with any information about the fire. “The house has been vacant for quite some time,” said Malone, “but we hope someone saw something that will lead us in the right direction.”

If you have any information regarding the fire, please contact MFRD’s Fire Marshals’ Office at 615-849-2605 or Rutherford County Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP (7867) Monday through Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm. Callers will remain anonymous and cash awards of up to $1,000 are offered for information leading to the arrest of persons of interest. You may also contact the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017 for a cash award of up to $5,000.
