Murfreesboro Fire Rescue promoted two to Captain and two to Engineer this week.
Chris Ayers and Karl Daigle were promoted to Captain and Dustin Liddell and Rob Odom were promoted to Engineer. The four will begin their new assignments over the weekend.
“I am confident that the men selected for these positions will make MFRD proud in their new roles,” said Fire Rescue Chief Mark Foulks.
Meet the New Captains
Chris Ayers, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)
With MFRD since 2001, Promoted to Engineer in 2008
United States Marine Corps Military Police-4 years
Certifications: Instructor I, Officer II, Hazardous Materials, Structural Collapse, Confined Space and Rope Rescue Technician, and Swiftwater II.
Committees: Spec Committee for the department’s most recent equipment purchase of the 100’ aerial platform
Hobbies: Hunting, fishing, running, and weight training.
Family: Wife Cindy and two sons, Colton and Noah.

Karl Daigle, Paramedic
With MFRD since 2004, Promoted to Engineer in 2013
United States Navy on aircraft carrier “USS Constellation”-4 years
1 semester away from an Associate’s Degree in Paramedicine
Certifications: Hazardous Materials Technician, Swiftwater II, Extrication, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor, Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor, and American Heart Association Training Center Faculty.
Affiliations: Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, International Association of Fire Fighters Local 3035, and American Heart Association.
Hobbies: Gym, firearms/gun range, hiking, surfing, and camping.
Family: Two daughters, Hannah and Ella.

Dustin Liddell, AEMT
With MFRD since 2007
Certifications: Rope Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Structural Collapse, and Confined Space Technician, Swiftwater and Trench Rescue, Advanced Extrication/Big Rig Rescue, BLS Instructor, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Instructor, and Critical Incident Stress Management: Prevention Through Understanding.
Affiliations: International Association of Fire Fighters (17 years)
Hobbies: Shooting, golfing, fishing, kayaking, and spending time with family.
Family: Wife Dora and daughter Carlie.
