The new division begins the process of streamlining the span of control into five divisions, plus Police and Fire departments, under City Manager Craig Tindall. Development Services, under Sam Huddleston, along with newly promoted Assistant City Manager for Development and Coordination Gary Whitaker, will work to enhance the City’s economic development. The focus will include re-developing downtown, utilizing tax increment financing incentives, locating the next major planned development area, and implementing the Historic Bottoms and Highland Park Avenue studies.
