Out of an abundance of caution, a number of City facilities will be closed beginning Monday, March 16.

City Schools

While we have no reason to believe that we have any cases of COVID-19 associated with Murfreesboro City Schools, out of an abundance of caution, MCS will close the week of March 16 through March 20. Schools will be open during regular school hours on Monday, March 16 for parents of students who have medicine that needs to be retrieved for their children.

CHOW buses will begin running next week to help with feeding our students. Information about the CHOW bus schedules will be sent in a separate message.

ESP will be closed the duration of the week. We apologize for any inconvenience that this closure may cause but we want to ere on the side of caution.

City Schools will continue to monitor the situation and keep staff, parents and our community updated.

City Court 

NOTICE OF SUSPENSION OF IN-PERSON COURT PROCEEDINGS

By Order entered March 13, 2020, the Tennessee Supreme Court suspended all in-person court proceedings from close of business on Friday, March 13, 2020, through Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cases are being rescheduled.  The Court Clerk’s Office will remain open.  Please call the Clerk’s office at 615-890-2142. 

Parks & Recreation:

MPRD Facility Closures Monday March 16 – Saturday March 21

The following Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department indoor facilities will be closed to the public Monday, March 16 through Saturday, March 21, 2020:

Adams Tennis Complex (indoor courts)

Bradley Academy Museum and Cultural Center

Cannonsburgh Village Visitor’s Center

McFadden Community Center

Patterson Park Community Center

St. Clair Street Senior Center, including St. Clair Street Senior Center St. Patrick’s Day Dance scheduled for March 14 2020 

Wilderness Station

Roots Youth Art Exhibition:  Opening receptions for the Roots Youth Art Exhibition at Bradley Academy Museum and Cultural Center have been postponed until April, dates to be determined. The receptions, scheduled for Saturday, March 14 for K-5th grades and Saturday, March 21, for 6th-12th grades, include over 500 pieces of artwork from Rutherford County school youth.

Murfreesboro Soccer Club--All soccer activities are suspended through March 22, 2020
