MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (February 17, 2022) – A collaborative effort between the Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD), Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), the United States Marshals Office, and Weld County Colorado Sheriff’s Office resulted in the capture of Jamar Marks in Evans, Colorado on Thursday, Feb. 17.
MPD detectives and TBI special agents executed multiple search warrants and subpoenas that revealed Marks’ location.
The U.S. Marshals, using information provided by MPD and TBI, located Marks and took him into custody around 9:45 p.m.
Marks was wanted on multiple felony warrants, including the first-degree murder of 35-year-old Brandon Anderson in the parking lot of the Habibi Hookah Café on Feb. 12.
He was added to the TBI 10 Most Wanted.
Marks remains in Colorado awaiting extradition back to Tennessee to face charges.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (February 16, 2022) – Murfreesboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division homicide detectives seized items after serving a warrant at Habibi Hookah Café on Wednesday, Feb. 16.
The warrant was executed as part of the investigation of the weekend shooting in the parking lot of the business that left one man dead and four injured.
The shooter, 21-year-old Jamar Adam Marks remains on the run.
The investigation is ongoing.

Warrants issued for gunman in overnight fatal shooting
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (February 12, 2022) – Arrest warrants have been issued for the gunman in the fatal overnight shooting in the parking lot of the Habibi Hookah Café early Saturday morning.
Homicide investigators are searching for Jamar Adam Marks, 21, of Murfreesboro. He wanted for first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Detectives believe he may be in the Nashville area.

Four other people were also shot. One remains in critical condition at the hospital, and the other three have been treated and released.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (February 12, 2022) – Murfreesboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and four others injured on Saturday, Feb. 12. Police are searching for the shooter.
A sergeant patrolling the area heard gunshots and responded to the Habibi Hookah Cafe, 1644 Middle Tennessee Blvd., around 2:03 a.m. The sergeant started life-saving efforts on a male victim and used a tourniquet. The man died at the hospital.
Four other people were also shot and taken to the hospital. Their conditions are not known.
The preliminary investigation shows two individuals began arguing and fighting in the parking lot before gunfire erupted.
Investigators are trying to determine a motive and identify the shooter.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
