[ARCHIVED] Miracle League All-Star Game and festivities, Sept 16-17, featured on “The Insider”

Play Ball! The 2022 Miracle League All Stars, showcasing special talent from across the nation, bring the nation’s best to Murfreesboro Sept. 16-17, for competition at Miracle Field of Murfreesboro. The City of Murfreesboro is hosting the 2022 event and the Miracle League All Stars competition, Sept. 17, will be televised live on CityTV, which will also include Facebook and YouTube. Miracle Field of Murfreesboro is located at McKnight Park, 120 DeJarnettee Lane. 

 

The Murfreesboro Parks & Recreation Department along with Miracle League of Murfreesboro detail plans for the 2022 Miracle League All Stars at Murfreesboro’s Miracle Field. Find out about the festivities and competition on the latest edition of “The Insider” beginning at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 22, at https://cityofmurfreesborotn.podbean.com/. Assistant Murfreesboro Parks & Recreation Director Thomas Laird and Miracle League of Murfreesboro Director Angie Keating are featured guests on “The Insider,” the City’s monthly podcast with host Mike Browning.

 

Topics discussed with Laird and Keating include:

  • Miracle League All Stars competition invites the public to enjoy the games on CityTV, Sept. 17 
  • What is Miracle League and how did it start in Conyers, Georgia? There are now over 325 leagues across the U.S. and worldwide with accessible fields, including the fully accessible rubberized field in Murfreesboro   
  • What is Project 14, a David Price Foundation, and the story behind Murfreesboro native son and MLB All Star David Price?

The two-day event will include the following events:  

  • Players and families will enjoy festivities at Sports*com, Sept 16, with the Home Run Derby and food trucks  
  • Six games with a competitive game at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17
