In observance of the Christmas holidays, most City of Murfreesboro offices will be closed Friday, December 23, and Monday, December 26. In observance of the New Year’s Day holiday, Murfreesboro offices and some recreational facilities will also be closed New Year’s Eve, Saturday, December 31 in addition to Monday, January 2.
There will be no Solid Waste garbage collection on Monday Dec. 26. Monday's collection will be moved to Tuesday, Dec. 27. Tuesday’s collection will be moved to Wednesday, Dec. 28. There will also be no Solid Waste garbage collection on Monday, Jan. 2. Monday’s collection will be moved to Tuesday. Tuesday’s collection will be moved to Wednesday. Solid Waste requests that garbage carts be placed to the street the night before collection.
Murfreesboro Transit, the City’s public transportation service, will not operate Friday, Dec. 23 and Saturday, Dec. 24, and Monday, Dec. 26, as well as Monday, Jan. 2. Murfreesboro Transit does not run on Sundays.
Old Fort, Bloomfield Links and VA Golf Courses will be closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, but open normal hours on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, weather permitting. The City of Murfreesboro will cease operating the VA Golf Course on Dec. 31.
The Senior Center will close at Noon Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24 and be closed on Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25. The Senior Center will close at 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, and will be closed for New Year’s Day, Jan. 1.
