[ARCHIVED] Murfreesboro police continue looking for suspect after man was shot

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (February 1, 2023) - Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) Criminal Investigations Division (CID) detectives are looking for the person responsible for shooting a man, leaving him seriously injured. 

 

The 20-year-old male victim was shot on Pritchett Dr. just after 6 p.m. Wednesday. 

 

The preliminary investigation shows the victim was sitting in a parked car when he was shot. The 20-year-old is in critical condition.

 

CID detectives are trying to determine a motive for the shooting.  

 

Investigators believe the shooter left the area.

 

A MPD K9 ran a track from the intersection of Pritchett and Betsy Ann Ave. that led to Florence Road where it ended. 

 

Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted with a drone with heat sensors, and a bloodhound.

 

This is an active and ongoing.
