The Murfreesboro Water Resources Department's Community Affairs Division is excited to announce the launch of the Seventh Annual Celebration and Third "Imagine a Day Without Water" High School Video Contest. The contest aims to engage and empower the youth of our community to creatively visualize the importance of potable (drinking) water in our daily lives, including the water and wastewater infrastructure.
Starting Monday, August 14, high school students in the Murfreesboro area are invited to review the guidelines and participate in this exciting learning opportunity. The contest encourages students to showcase their creativity and passion by creating short videos (30 sec. – 60 sec.) highlighting water's vital role in our society. In addition to fostering creativity and awareness, the "Imagine a Day Without Water" High School Video Contest aims to encourage responsible water usage and promote a sense of environmental stewardship among the youth.
"We believe in the power of visual storytelling to raise awareness about the significance of water conservation," said Sharon Seibert, Community Affairs Manager of the Murfreesboro Water Resources Department. "This contest provides an excellent platform for young minds to express their thoughts on water's value and its essential role in our community."
Each grade has a specific theme to shape its Public Service Announcement message. Without boundaries, it will be a true collaboration to see the next generation's approach to solving today's problems tomorrow and their stewardship over our most precious resource, drinking water. Participants can submit their video entries between September 9 to October 9. The contest is open to all high school students within the Murfreesboro City and Rutherford County areas.
Entries will be judged based on relevance, originality, and aesthetic quality. The winners will receive Visa Gift Cards, social media and website recognition for their creativity, Imagine A Day Without Water T's, and MWRDCA swag.
