[ARCHIVED] MFRD Requests Public’s Assistance with Vehicle Fire Incident

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department’s Fire Marshal’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in regard to a vehicle fire that occurred Wednesday morning around 6:30.

District 8 was dispatched to 1109 Greenland Drive for a GMC Suburban engulfed in flames behind the Clean Threads Super Laundry. The crew quickly extinguished the fire.

The Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene to investigate. According to Assistant Fire Marshal Michael Bartlett, the vehicle was reported stolen from the Division Street area around 10:00 Tuesday night.

Witnesses saw two men exit the vehicle before it ignited. The two men then got into another vehicle (make and model not immediately known) and drove from the scene.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is requesting that persons with any information regarding this crime call Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP. Callers may remain anonymous and earn up to $1,000 for information that leads to conviction.
