  1. Start Smart Summer Baseball Registration

    March 20, 2021, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ Registration will be held throughout the month of March at Sports*Com, McFadden Community Center, Patterson Park Community Center and the Main Office at Barfield Crescent Park.

    Start Smart Baseball is a developmentally appropriate introductory baseball program for children aged 3-4. The program prepares children for organized tee ball, baseball and softball in a fun and safe environment. Also, it prepares children and their parents for organized baseball and softball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. It will be a seven-week program. Registration will be held throughout the month of March at Sports*Com, McFadden Community Center, Patterson Park Community Center and the Main Office at Barfield Crescent Park. Space is limited. For ages 3-4. Registration begins in March and runs throughout the month. Program will start April 9 and last seven weeks.

    Woodland Walking Sticks After a long winter cooped up indoors, spring is a beautifully unique time to get out and rediscover nature! A walking stick serves as a great tool by being an additional point of contact on terrain and can even help you cover more ground. Select and personalize your own walking stick to take along on your next outdoor adventure. Space is limited to 10 participants; therefore, registration is required and can be done by calling 615-217-3017. For all ages.

  6. Venomous Animals of Middle Tennessee

    March 20, 2021, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Wilderness Station at Barfield Crescent Park

    Middle Tennessee is home to several venomous animals. The focus of this program will be on the identification, potential hazards, safety, and how to live side by side with these very important animals. We will cover the venomous animals and their means of defense and prey capture. We will discuss their importance in biotechnology and biodiscovery. This program would be great for college students concentrating on life sciences or biotechnology, young adults, and children just interested in the animals that call Middle Tennessee home. Enjoy a colorful presentation and get a chance to see some nonvenomous animals in person. Ages: 12+
